It’s not going to rain, I promise! (well, maybe not much rain). I’m downtown, south of the Harold Washington Library, all day today and all day tomorrow. Look for me at the Echelon tent or with the Mystery Writers of America.
Whew! I’m still tired from attending the Printer’s Row book fest in downtown Chicago this past weekend. I doubt I’ll have the energy to get a new comic up this week, but I’ll try.
Fantastic time though. Hung out with authors Norm Cowie, Julie Hyzy, Michael Black, Bob Goldsborough, JA Konrath, Luisa Buehler and a whole bunch of Echelon Press folks led by publisher Karen Syed. Spent some time at the Midwest Mystery Writer’s tent as well.
It was terrific – tons of people stopped to listen about my book and many are even now checking out Odd Jobs on the web. I sold all the books I’d brought and even more of the ones Karen brought.
I may be tired in body, but this kind of event really recharges the spirit.
I don’t know if I’ve said it lately, but thanks for reading.
I had a great time at Printer’s Row last week but between that, fighting off a cold and taking some time off to spend with my daughters on their last day of seventh grade – well, I took a week off from the web.
But I’m back, and I’ve got new events listed on the events page, including the Drawing program I’m doing this Saturday, 2 pm, at the Jefferson Park library, 5363 W. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago IL. (Call (312) 744-1998 for more information.)

So I’m thinking about doing a series of prints – sized to fit on 5.5. x 8.5 paper. I’m thinking that it would look like a series of old pulp detective magazines, only with a small bit of color and a black-and-white image. I did one:

And I think I have another one in mind. Question is, is this something people might be interested in?

Hey, a new review of Cash & Carry over at Optical Sloth.
Some exerpts:
“… this is a damned near perfect graphic novel.”
“The man can write and draw a mean thriller, and it’s always at least mildly impressive to me when a graphic novel just demands to be read all at one sitting. ”
“Check it out, it’s the first thing in a while that reminds me of Stray Bullets in its heyday. “
Wow! Thanks Kevin!
