Buy comic book day

It’s free comic book day today. Walk into just about any comic book store and you can come away with a bag of samplers.
I have nothing printed up – all my free stuff you can find links to on the left side of it page. It’s kind of like free comic book day everyday on the web.
The first story I ever did, Lost Child, is rerunning and just about wrapping up.
The second story, Something to build upon, is back on the web after being in print for a while. I’m trying to see if there’s any more books left.
And, of course, there’s the current story – Children of the Revolution.
So no shortage of free comics – what I need is a Buy Comics Day.
If you like what you’re reading for free, buy the comic – there’s a link to my book, Cash & Carry at the top left. The economy and I will surely appreciate it!

Atwoodfest is on!

Just got word from my pal Matt Geber that Atwoodfest is on for June 6. This is an annual celebration of the life of one of my best friends, Mark Evans.
If you’ve read the forward to Cash & Carry, you know a bit about him.
Mark was murdered three years ago in a vicious robbery gone bad. His killer was caught much later and is currently awaiting trial.
There will be much drinking of very bad vodka as that was his drink of choice. Salute!

  • Beer, Milwaukee style.
  • When you’re in Milwaukee, you really have to go here

Belt testing tomorrow

Monday I test for my yellow belt in Hapkido. The daughters have already tested for their red belts in Tai Kwon Do, and passed with flying colors. Hated to miss it, but I was in Milwaukee Saturday.
UPDATE: And I’m now an orange belt in Hapkido. Yay! Instructor pulled a bit of a trick – I didn’t just break one board, I had to break two. Not bad though – it was a knee break that I knew I could do.

Palatine Library interview up

Along with author Norm Cowie, I’m going to be participating at an event starting at 2 p.m. this Saturday, jointly sponsored by the Mystery On Loan Club and Teen Book Club of the Palatine Public Library.
In conjunction with that, they did a nice Q&Q which they’ve posted at their Teen blog.
